Generic Learning allows learners to extend their knowledge and experience and develop essential life skills.
Generic Learning consists of:
Delivery should be closely linked to the Principal Learning component of the Diploma.
- Foundation Level learners should receive a total of 240 GLH of generic learning
- Higher Level learners should receive a total of 200 GLH of generic learning
- Advanced Level learners should receive a total of 180 GLH of generic learning (Learners who have not yet achieved all, or some, of the Functional Skills at Higher Level will require additional time, totalling up to 260 GLH.)
In addition, 10 days of work experience is required at each level.
