Anyone over the age of 16 can take a BTEC National. And with over 220 titles, there should be something for everyone.
They can be studied on their own or alongside A levels, allowing you to complete a varied and rounded set of qualifications. They are also flexible in how you choose to study, either full or part time, so that you can adapt them to your circumstances.
They are the most popular vocational qualification in UK further education and are recognised and respected worldwide.
You can use them to go on to further study
BTEC Nationals earn you UCAS points and are therefore valued by universities, allowing you to go on and take a BTEC HND/HNC or honours degree.
- BTEC National Award = 1 A level
- BTEC National Certificate = 2 A levels
- BTEC National Diploma = 3 A levels
Results for BTEC qualifications are released before those of A levels, so you can confirm your university place before other students.
